Here we a classic machine The GPZ550. This bike was first registered in 1981 and has covered a mere 39000 miles in that time. WE ARE NOW BREAKING THIS MACHINE FOR SPARES AND THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE TANK ONLY, WHICH IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. PLEASE EMAIL US AT;- briste@hotmail.co.uk FOR QUOTES ON ANY OTHER PART.It has no tax or mot and is need of some work. She does run but makes quite a loud cammy noise...... We started with the tensioner and after we had serviced that it still made the same noise. we then took the cam cover of to find that the head is getting plenty of oil and that we couldnt find any signs of wear on either the cams or their clamps, the cam chain will pull slack though which leads us to beleive that the cam chain tensioner blade is either broken or missing. The engine, when running revs too cleanly for there to be anything wrong with the timing, it does mean that the engine will need too come out and then half dismantled to find the problem for sure and then fix it. The exhaust is goosed and the front brake is in need of some attention and it looks like some dimwhit has been helping with the electrics. The good points are the origional state of the machine, for instance, the tank, side panels and seat suround are in really good condition, the frame is good and solid, the shocks are looking good, we have serviced the carbs, it has new plugs and a new starter solenoid, all four indicators are origional too. This bike would be an ideal project for an enthusiast. I really do believe that while the engine is out of the frame to be fixed, the block and carbs can all be re-blacked at which point this rather tired old classic will be worth much more. I dont really want much for it andI have given the bike an honest apraisel. I have put it on a short listing and if it doesnt sell, I will have no choice but to break it for spares as I really dont have the time to do this bike justice.
